a 37 year catch up

ok, well I am 37, so if you want to understand a bit about me and how I got here, I guess I had better get you up to date on the first 37 years of my life. Don't worry, the vast majority of it was not that interesting so it will take  a suprisingly short amount of time. Right, here we go: I was born in 1973 and I know the 70's were groovy and all,  but the only thing that I can remember that stands out from this era is the orange wall paper we had to match the purple carpet! (plus some dubious photo's of me in a few choice 70's outfits - think brotherhood of man and you will get the general idea)
Fast forward to the 80's and you will find me in my bedroom in a rara skirt or stonewashed denims, arguing with my sister over wall space for our beloved posters. Curtesy of Smash Hits magazine we were forever fighting over who got pride of place over our beds - Duran Duran or Spandau Ballet (she was going to marry Simon Lebon and I had  room in my heart only for Tony Hadley). This decade saw my first proper crush, my first proper kiss and my first proper ambitions. The crush faded to nothing, the kissing (thankfully) got better and as for my ambitions, well some of them happened, some did not and some are still are work in progress.

See? 2 decades in just a few sentences - I told you the road to "now" was mostly uneventful!
